A Tragic Event

Some of you may or may not already know this, but a very sad story hit way too close to home this weekend. If you watched/read the news you may have heard about the plane that crashed in Guatemala that had humanitarian workers on board from Utah. (http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=4095091)
Five of the people on that plane were from the same company that Kurtis works for (and I used to work for) and two of them that didn't survive actually worked rather closely with and around Kurtis. It is such a tragedy that this happened and my heart goes out to the families of those amazing people on their way to do such a noble thing. I can't imagine what they are feeling right now and I hope I never have to experience first hand something like this. There is a small miracle in this story and that is that the COO of the company survived this horrific crash, which we are grateful for. This is a hard time for everyone at the company as well as many of the people who use to work there. John, Cody, Jeff and Lydia will all be missed by so many people. I ask for all of you who may read this to keep the families of all who were on the plane in your prayers. I am a firm believer that people who experience sad events like this can feel the prayers and caring of those who they may never even know. There are also accounts set up for the families of these amazing people. I encourage those of you, who are able, to donate. Here is how you can help.

At any Zions Bank Branch in the names John Carter and Cody Odekirk. Donations can be made in person, mail a check to 2302 Washington Blvd, Ogden UT 84401, or if you have a Zions account you can call any branch to transfer money.

Any Sauk Valley Branch in the names of Jeff Reppe and Lydia Silva. Donations can be made in person or be mailed to 201 W 3rd St, Sterling IL 61081.

If mailing a check or money order please specify which memorial fund you would like the funds to go to.

One thing I will take from this, and I hope others do too is to show your love and gratitude for everyone in your life always. There are no guarantees that you'll have time later to let that person know how you feel, now is the time to do it. With how busy our lives get it gets harder and harder to spend extra time with a loved one or to give that good friend a call. We need to remember what's most important to us and not let other things get in the way. Again, my heart goes out to the families of those on the plane and I pray for their comfort at this time. I am so grateful for the people that are in my life and I want them to know how much they mean to me. I love you all!

We have a date!!!

We finally were able to set a date!! We're officially going to get married Sept 17th! We have the Eldredge Manor booked for our reception and I'm going to call the Bountiful temple on Tuesday and get all of that squared away!! Now it'll be easier to plan because now I'll have a date to tell people, but we did get a photographer. It was actually the one I originally wanted, but I wasn't sure if she'd do our engagements and my bridals without being officially booked for our wedding because her pricing is an all-in-one package, but she was great and was willing to work with us and did tell me she'd be available for the 17th if that ended up being the date we get married so now she can do all of our photography! We have our engagement pics scheduled for this Friday (the 15th) and my bridals are scheduled for Wed, Sept 3rd!! Woohoo! I am so excited and today is an excellent day!!
